I really like the direction you took this one! Many times artists will alienate the central figure from their environment by surrounding the figure with muted tones but here the praying woman is immersed in a jubilee of color! That's cool to me, because it seems to suggest she's not praying out of desperation but celebration.

That's a great comment. People obsess over the notion of prayer as a "last resort" of people plagued by pain (or preoccupied by other people's pain). Prayer is not necessarily so.
